The proposed wilderness area and backcountry area map for Big Ivy is supported by over 32 outdoor organizations, including IMBA, Pisgah Area SORBA, Mountain True, Carolina Climbers Coalition, Nantahala Hiking Club, Outdoor Alliance, Blue Ridge Outdoors, and Friends of Big Ivy. It's also supported by local farmers, hunters, anglers, hikers, bikers, equestrians, and community leaders.
